// True Story — How Era TMS Came to Life

1. 2010–2015: Internal Development

The first line of code was written back in 2010 at AIFsoft in Kharkiv. The system was developed as an internal solution for a translation agency. The project was named PerstPro and was created to manage all aspects of a translation agency’s work: clients, orders, translators, payment calculations, salaries, payment and debtor control, project/order management at all stages. It was a classic desktop application with network mode and internet connectivity, requiring server infrastructure and setup on each workstation. From 2010 to 2015, the system was actively developed and tested in real conditions, including collaboration with leading translation agencies in Ukraine. It helped automate processes, reduce errors, improve client service quality, and control company finances.

2. Growth and Challenges: Entering the Market

In 2015, we opened the system to the market. PerstPro began to be used by other translation agencies — first in Ukraine, then in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Within just 4 years, 72 agencies worked on our platform. The system proved its stability and effectiveness, especially under intensive projects and constant collaboration with freelancers. However, growth also brought challenges.

⚠ The First Blow: Politics and Restrictions

After political turmoil and financial blockades between countries began, some clients lost the ability to conduct mutual settlements. This was the first serious blow to the system. But the real challenge came a little later.

😷 COVID-19: The World Went Online

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the whole world shifted to remote work, PerstPro revealed its main drawback — the need for installation and configuration on computers and the presence of server infrastructure. Translation agencies and managers working from home could not quickly switch to remote mode without technical support. A cloud system was needed — accessible from a browser without complex setup. And we started developing the web version of PerstPro — from scratch, using a modern tech stack.

💥 War. 2022: Project Halt

The new phase of development was abruptly interrupted. In 2022, a full-scale war began. The development center was located in Kharkiv and was subjected to massive missile and bomb attacks from the very first days. The data center was destroyed, part of the team evacuated, and the development of the web version was forcibly suspended. Everything we had built was at risk of destruction. However, despite the extreme circumstances, support for existing clients continued — we stayed connected, helped solve technical issues, and ensured stable operation of the desktop version for those who kept working.

3. The Birth of Era TMS

In 2024, a decision was made to relaunch the project. We revamped the entire development, rebuilt the architecture, and adapted the functionality for the web. We preserved the spirit of PerstPro — but completely updated the technologies and approach. Era TMS is the new face of a time-tested solution. We took the best from PerstPro: the logic, practicality, and real-world experience. But left behind everything that hindered freedom — installations, servers, complex configurations. We shed the ballast to move faster. Now, Era TMS is a modern cloud platform for managing translation projects that:

runs directly in the browser, with no installation or updates required;
is accessible anywhere and on any device;
requires no technical knowledge — you just start working;
scales with your team;
offers fair pricing — pay only for projects, with a free start.

The system is available in English, German, French, Ukrainian, and Russian, with plans to add more languages in the future.
